Kiwi Kite gives kitesurfing lessons in Wijk aan Zee near the bunker. In the summer there is often a south-westerly wind, making Wijk aan Zee a suitable place to learn kite surfing. Wijk aan Zee is a good place with south-westerly winds because of the location of the pier. The waves and currents are broken by this, creating a perfect sea for a kitesurfing lesson. The beach is very large in Wijk aan Zee, giving you plenty of space to learn kiteboarding.

We go to IJmuiden to give kitesurfing lessons with a southerly wind (then it is offshore in Wijk aan Zee) and with a northwest wind. You are then perfectly positioned behind the pier of IJmuiden. Here you can stand for a long time and with a north wind you will not be bothered by currents and high waves. The beach of IJmuiden is huge, just like in Wijk aan Zee and Zandvoort. This gives you plenty of room to practice. From Amsterdam you can drive to the kite surfing location in IJmuiden in about 30-40 minutes. Schellinkhout is suitable for many wind directions (south-west, south, west, south-east) and you can stand everywhere. With south-western winds it is a stable landward breeze and very suitable for learning to kitesurf. If the wind is too strong for a kitesurfing lesson at sea, we can also go to Schellinkhout. Here you always have flat water and the wind is often not as strong as at the coast. From Amsterdam it takes about 45 minutes to get to the kitesurf location in Schellinkhout. With an easterly wind Edam is a good spot to learn kite surfing. Then the wind is offshore at Wijk aan zee, Zandvoort and IJmuiden and unfortunately we cannot give kite lessons there. We often also plan a kitesurfing lesson at Edam to experience what it is like to kite surf on inland waters. The sun also often shines with an easterly wind. Edam is a flat water spot where you can stand in many places, so that you can easily grab your board and start riding the board quickly! We go to Muiderberg when the sea is too rough for a kitesurfing lesson and when the wind is not suitable for kiting by the sea (such as with north east wind).
